A backflow device, also called a double check valve is designed to prevent contamination of your water supply. Without this equipment in place and in good working order, water containing pool or lawn chemicals or sewage, for example, can be siphoned back into your household water from an occurrence such as a water main break or a firefighting effort.
Most towns now require backflow equipment with the use of underground sprinkler, swimming pools or any other appliance connected to the public water supply. The New York State Health Department requires annual inspection and testing of all backflow device to be performed by a state certified tester each year.
We have NY State Certified backflow testers on staff, and we also install new devices.
